A prayer for Memorial Day.
O LORD our God...
We thank thee for all those who counted not their lives dear unto themselves but laid them down for their friends; grant us, we pray, that having them always in remembrance we may imitate their faithfulness and sacrifice;
through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13 KJV).
